Ukrainian Armed Forces tell about the use of the latest Punisher UAV at the front
"There is nothing like this in Ukraine or abroad"
The Ukrainian military received 15 modernized Punisher UAVs. It is the quietest drone with the lowest mission cost in the world.
Since 2016, the Punisher drone has been serving Ukrainian defenders and successfully destroying enemy targets. Thanks to Cosmolot’s support, the first 15 modernized “birds” were sent to the front line to take revenge on the Russian occupiers.
“This is not a tool that works on the front line. It is designed to hit in the rear. It flies even where artillery cannot reach and where it is not expected. It works very quietly, and even when a bomb falls, they (the occupiers – ed.) do not understand where it came from,” Oleksiy, a junior sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told reporters.
The drone was developed by ATO veterans, and its main feature is the ability to counteract electronic warfare (EW).
“The payload container carried by the basic drone is a 2.5 kg container. It contains 600 g of plasticized explosives and 2,300 metal elements of 5.56 caliber. It just so happens that the caliber of our warheads is the same as a NATO bullet,” said Maksym Subbotin, the ideologist behind the Punisher UAV project.
Unlike artillery systems, such drones can deliver extremely accurate strikes on targets. The radius of the drone’s charge is about 35 meters.
“Someone once told me about this airplane, but it was a dream. I didn’t even think it was possible to get this airplane. Even to look at it – it’s just perfect. There is nothing like it in Ukraine or abroad. It is a unique thing,” said Oleksiy, a junior sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Cosmolot has created Ukraine’s first fleet of attack drones, so 15 UAVs are just the beginning. As part of the Cosmolot Airlines charity project, the military will receive a total of 50 modernized Punisher drones worth UAH 100 million. The company is convinced that this will contribute to the development of modern domestic technologies and bring the victory over the occupiers on the battlefield closer.
