iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the lightest Pro models since the iPhone XS

This year, one of the updates to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones will be a frame made of titanium. Grade 5 titanium, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is a titanium alloy used in various industries and is widely known for its corrosion resistance. As it turned out, titanium affects not only the strength but also the weight of gadgets.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that the use of titanium has helped reduce the weight of smartphones by 10%. MacRumors confirms his words. Moreover, the publication received the exact dimensions of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 Pro measures 8.25 mm (thickness) x 146.6 mm (length) x 70.6 mm (width) and weighs 188 g. So it’s 18 g lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro. Other parameters are almost the same, although the body thickness has increased slightly – 8.25 mm compared to 7.85 mm in the iPhone 14 Pro.

The dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are 8.25×159.9×76.7 mm and the weight is 221 g. The smartphone is 19 g lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. By the way, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the lightest models in the Pro line since the iPhone XS (177 g) and iPhone XS Max (208 g). It’s worth clarifying here that the iPhone 11 Pro weighed the same as the iPhone 15 Pro – 188 g.

The iPhone 15 has the following dimensions and weight: thickness – 7.8 mm; length – 146.7 mm; width – 71.5 mm; weight – 172 g. Thus, the dimensions and weight of the iPhone 15 are similar to those of the iPhone 14. And this is not surprising, because the iPhone 15 will continue to use the same body material as the iPhone 14 – 6013 T6 aluminum.
