Rheinmetall is going to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an additional batch of Marder infantry fighting vehicles.

The information was shared by the company’s press service. We are talking about 40 infantry fighting vehicles that are currently undergoing repairs. The customer for the machines is the German government. The first deliveries of BMPs will begin in October. By the way, Germany is to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a total of 80 Marders. Most of them are already in Ukraine.
The Marder is a German tracked infantry fighting vehicle. It has been in service with the Bundeswehr since the 1970s. The BMP has many modifications and can accommodate up to 10 people. The Marder boasts a sealed housing made of several grades of shell plates up to 30 mm thick. They protect the front of the BMP from 20 mm and 25 mm bullets from a distance of 200 meters, and the sides from shrapnel and 7.62 mm small arms. As for the armament, it is equipped with a 20-mm RH 202 automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm MG3 machine gun paired with it. The infantry fighting vehicle also has another machine gun on the roof of the troop compartment.
