Polish company MILITUS-PL has developed thermobaric artillery shells for self-propelled howitzers AHS Krab
The Polish self-propelled artillery systems AHS Krab will be able to hit the enemy with thermobaric munitions. The shells were presented at the MSPO-2023 exhibition.
What is known
The developer of the new ammunition is the Polish company MILITUS-PL. Thermobaric shells with NEX-NW explosives will allow AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers to destroy the enemy more effectively.
High temperature and sudden pressure drops are the shock factors in thermobaric munitions. The shells are primarily aimed at fighting enemy manpower hiding in the trenches.
The Russian army is currently using heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A with thermobaric rockets. The launch range is about 6 km. Polish AHS Krab howitzers with new ammunition will be able to fire at a distance of several tens of kilometers.
