NGU demonstrates the use of Romanian TAB-71 against Shahed-136 (video)
The press service of the National Guard of Ukraine made a report about the work of “Shaheda hunters” in Vinnytsia region. The story describes the peculiarities of the mobile teams’ work and their equipment. As it turned out, they are armed with rather exotic equipment.
After the air raid is declared, members of the mobile fire team must move to the position within 15 minutes. The report tells about a group consisting of active NGU soldiers with combat experience.
The group is armed with an RPG, a large-caliber Browning M2 mounted in the back of a pickup truck, and a Degtyarev machine gun (DP-27) with a tripod. The team members get to the position in a Romanian TAB-71 armored personnel carrier. The heavy machine gun mounted on it is also used to repel Shahed-136 attacks.
Generators can be found in a pickup truck and armored personnel carrier. Apparently, they are used in the dark to power floodlights. The DP-27 machine gun looks quite unusual in the hands of the National Guard. The last time such weapons were seen among the TRO fighters was after the start of the invasion.
