Tu-160 bombers to be armed with a new Russian cruise missile with a range of 6500 km
The Russian Aerospace Forces’ Tu-160 strategic bombers have allegedly received a new X-BD missile with a range of more than 6,500 km. One of the Russian generals reported this to Kim Jong-un.
During his visit to Russia, the North Korean leader familiarized himself with Russian military equipment. Kim Jong-un’s attention was drawn to airplanes. In particular, the modernized MiG-31I fighter jet.
Kim Jong-un was also shown a Tu-160 strategic bomber. It can now allegedly be armed with a new missile. This was stated by a Russian general in the presence of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The new strategic missile is called X-BD. According to official data, it has a maximum launch range of more than 6,500 km. But it is not known to what extent this statement is true. The Tu-160 can carry 12 such missiles. The Defense Ministry showed a bomber, but did not show any new missiles.
