MV-10, Bozena-4 and Bozena-5. Ukraine plans to produce demining machines
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense is currently negotiating the possibility of starting production of mechanized demining vehicles such as MV-10, Bozena-4 and Bozena-5.
This was reported by Oleh Shuvarsky, head of the mine action department.
According to him, the agencies are negotiating with Croatian and Slovak companies DOK-ING and Way Industries to localize the production of demining machines in Ukraine.
He noted that MV-10, Bozena-4 and Bozena-5 have proven to be the most effective in demining the de-occupied territories.
At the same time, the Defense Ministry is certifying domestic vehicles to be produced at Ukrainian facilities.
“There are many Ukrainian manufacturers trying to produce mechanized demining machines, but they do not meet safety requirements, which leads to violations of safety rules and civilian casualties,” Shuvarsky said.
The official said that today the priority need for mine action operators is estimated at 64 vehicles, while only more than 20 mechanized complexes are currently in operation.
