In the future, the Ukrainian Air Force may receive French fourth-generation Mirage 2000D fighters.
According to the source, a delegation from the Ukrainian Air Force has traveled to France to discuss and agree on the details of the future agreement. It is possible that training for Ukrainian pilots has already begun. The number of aircraft has not yet been specified.
The Mirage 2000D is one of several modifications of the fourth-generation Mirage 2000 fighter. It made its debut flight in February 1991, and the production model took to the skies for the first time two years later.
The main task of the Mirage 2000D is to counter enemy air defense and strike ground targets. The fighter carries SCALP EG and Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which have already entered service with the Ukrainian Air Force.
The French Air Force has more than 50 aircraft in its arsenal that are being modernized to improve combat capabilities in air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. Some fighters are equipped with the Link 16 communication system, which allows them to exchange data with friendly forces on the ground and in the air.
