Germany may provide Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles with a range of more than 500 km after ATACMS delivery

The epic around the supply of ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine continues. Against this backdrop, information has emerged about another Western weapon that the warring country needs.

What is known

The frontline bombers of the Ukrainian Air Force’s Su-24 have been using Storm Shadow and SCALP EG cruise missiles for several months. At the same time, Ukraine needs German Taurus missiles, which have a launch range of more than 500 kilometers.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Germany wants to move in unison with the United States. The delivery of ATACMS should push the German government to transfer Taurus cruise missiles.

Interestingly, a few days ago, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that German and American missiles are two independent stories. According to him, the transfer of ATACMS does not automatically activate Taurus supplies. Germany will make a decision in the coming days.
