A large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot near Orenburg: Media report on victims (video)

According to media reports, tanks with crude oil caught fire on the territory of the facility. The fire has been extinguished, and rescuers are now searching for the missing employee of the oil depot.

On the evening of Sunday, September 24, a large-scale fire broke out at an oil refinery in Orenburg, Russia. As a result of the incident, one person was reported missing. This was reported by the local Telegram channel Novosti Orenburg.

According to the source, the tankers with oil products caught fire around 21:00 on Sunday at km 26 of the M-5 Ural highway. It is the territory of a private enterprise near the village of Kholodni Klyuchi. 70 firefighters with 30 pieces of equipment were sent there.

Firefighters reportedly extinguished the fire using a “foam attack”. According to them, open burning was no longer observed, but the fire still covered an area of 500 square meters.

One person was injured and one person was reported missing after the fire at the plant. In particular, a 47-year-old man who was in a state of shock was allegedly hospitalized with burns of all three degrees, which affected more than 50% of his body.
