Air Force shows footage of Ukrainian pilots training on F-16 simulators
The Ukrainian Air Force demonstrated the process of training and adaptation of Ukrainian pilots to Western F-16 fighters.
In their free time, pilots are introduced to the F-16 cockpit in virtual reality and given common missions to practice as part of a pair, squadron, and squadron.
The simulator itself consists of virtual reality goggles, a motor control knob, a monitor, a system unit, and pedals. The military noted that the joystick (the control knob – Ed.) is located on the right, not in the center, as in Soviet-style aircraft, and this also needs to be adapted.
Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat explained that after training on simulators, pilots are sent to allied countries to master real combat aircraft.
“This significantly reduces the duration of training abroad,” he said.
According to him, virtually all tactical aviation brigades have these simulators at their disposal.
Ihnat also added that the simulator software is loaded with real maps of Ukraine, so the pilots are actually flying in the skies of their native country.
