Ukrainian artillery destroyed Russian self-propelled artillery system “Acacia” with high-precision M982 Excalibur projectile (video)

Ukrainian artillery near Verbove in Zaporizhzhia destroyed an enemy Acacia self-propelled artillery system with a high-precision M982 Excalibur shell.

Journalist Yuriy Butusov posted the footage on his Telegram channel.

“Our artillerymen are using a high-precision 155-mm M982 Excalibur shell to destroy a Russian Acacia self-propelled artillery system near Verbove,” he commented.

The M982 Excalibur is a 155 mm high-precision artillery projectile. Created by the joint efforts of various research units of the US Army and Raytheon. The guidance system is inertial combined with GPS. Due to its high accuracy, the projectile can hit targets up to 75-150 meters away from friendly units, or when targets are located in civilian areas and the use of traditional unguided artillery shells is impossible due to the high risk of collateral damage.

Ukrainian artillerymen successfully used the received shells to hit various enemy targets. Targeting was carried out, among other things, using Leleka-100 UAV systems.
