Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots destroy an important bridge in Donetsk region using a JDAM guided missile (video)
Ukrainian pilots destroyed an important bridge on the Horlivka-Yasynuvata highway with a JDAM guided missile, significantly complicating logistics for the occupiers.
“Ukrainian troops used JDAM guided aerial bombs to strike a strategically important bridge for the enemy on the Horlivka-Yasynuvata highway. The destruction of this bridge blocked the way for the occupiers to supply supplies and the possible withdrawal of their troops,” the commentary to the video reads.
JDAM is not a bomb itself, but equipment based on GPS technology. It is mounted on NATO-standard free-flight aircraft bombs, turning them into all-weather guided aerial munitions. The JDAM kit consists of an inertial navigation system, a satellite signal receiver, small wings and a tail stabilizer. All of this turns a conventional air bomb into a guided weapon that can reach targets at long distances.
