Bayraktar TB3 with Kemantes and L-UMTAS missiles is preparing for its maiden flight
Baykar posted on Facebook footage of the Bayraktar TB3 drone, which carries Kemantes cruise missiles and L-UMTAS anti-tank missiles. The drone surpasses its predecessor in terms of power and lethality.
The Baykar report notes that the strike UAV was recently successfully tested by the company’s engineers at high speed. Now they are busy preparing the aircraft for the first flight.
The Bayraktar TB3 was originally designed as a deck-based drone. Next-generation strike drones will be based on Anadolu’s flagship, versatile amphibious assault ships and aircraft carriers. On October 10, the Bayraktar TB3 made its first runway run, but it was only reported on October 13. According to the developers, this was one of the last tests of the aircraft before its debut flight.
The payload capacity of the Bayraktar TB3 is 280 kg versus 150 kg for the Bayraktar TB2. The drone has folding wings. The number of weapon mounts increased from four to six.
