Hamas’ attack on Israel forced the United States to deploy large forces to the region. These included the iconic A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft, known as the Warthog.
The US Air Force deployed a group of attack aircraft assigned to the 354th Fighter Squadron to the Middle East. The planes were stationed in Arizona at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

The U.S. Department of Defense is in no hurry to disclose the location where the A-10 Thunderbolt IIs arrived. Officials limited themselves to saying that the planes would join other A-10s already in the region. These are the attack aircraft of the 75th Fighter Squadron.
The purpose of this operation is to deter Hezbollah from attempting to escalate the conflict. In addition, the United States wants to demonstrate its support for Israel in this difficult time. Earlier, the Pentagon sent two aircraft carriers to the region, as well as fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters.
