Germany presents Twister AI drone that can be carried in a backpack

Quantum-Systems has presented a new drone. The Twister unmanned aerial vehicle made its debut at the AUSA 2023 conference. It can be disassembled into six parts and carried in a backpack.

The new platform is still at the prototype stage. Quantum-Systems plans to complete work on the drone early next year. The company currently has five models undergoing flight tests at its Munich plant.

Twister is a drone with vertical takeoff and landing. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 2.5 kg and a wingspan of 1.2 meters. The payload weight is 350 g. The lithium-ion battery will provide up to 75 minutes of flight time without recharging. The range will be 10 km.

The drone will be supported by artificial intelligence algorithms. The company also announces the possibility of installing two NextVision Nighthawk2-UZ and AVT Australia CM62 electro-optical/infrared sensors.
