Ukrainian operators of the Stugna ATGM start using high-explosive missiles

Ukrainian border guards began to use Stugna ATGMs with high explosive guided missiles against the occupiers in Kharkiv region. This follows from a video posted on Telegram.

They hit a Russian infantry fighting vehicle with personnel from the Stugna-P ATGM. An anti-tank system with high-explosive missiles was used by border guards to repel the assault.

Missiles for the Stugna with an explosive warhead were developed by Luch Design Bureau specialists a long time ago. Despite this, no one ordered them until 2022. Apparently, the missiles used by the border guards in the Liman-Kupyansk area were manufactured after the invasion began.

The manufacturer’s website states that the high explosive warhead is equipped with RK-20F (130 mm) and RK-2M-OF (152 mm) missiles. The warhead of both missiles contains a warhead along with ready-made fragments. This is what provides them with armor-piercing properties.

The flight range of the RK-20F is 5,000 meters. It pierces armor 60 mm thick. The missile’s warhead contains 600 fragments. The RK-2M-OF model is more powerful. It pierces 120 mm of armor, scattering more than 1,000 fragments when detonated.
