Do they do any good: components of Russian UAVs found in Ukrainian drones

The Russian military complains about the use of components taken from the Geranium UAV in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drones. They are installed by Ukrainian specialists in homemade aircraft.

This was reported by the Russian Telegram channel
Mash.

Russian Defense Industry equips Geranium drones with Kometa units designed to interact with the GLONASS system. The unit is located in one of the drone’s wings. During the explosion, it flies off to the side. Thus, the Comet unit almost always remains intact.

As you know, Geranium drones are used by Russia on a massive scale. As a result, Ukrainian craftsmen have a large number of chips at their disposal. They install them in drones, which are produced in a handicraft way.

The Russian defense industry has not only modified the Shahed-136 by installing a GLONASS chip, but also significantly simplified the design of the vehicle. The advanced drones are labeled by Russia as “Geranium-2”. The Russians managed to establish their mass production. They were unable to localize the production of kamikaze drones by 100%. Part of the component base is still supplied by Iran.
