Ukrainian mine countermeasures ships join Joint Warrior military exercises in the UK (photo)

As part of comprehensive training under the guidance of Royal Navy mentors, the Cherkasy and Chernihiv mine countermeasures ships and the headquarters of the Ukrainian Mine Action Tactical Group joined the Joint Warrior 23-II multinational exercise in UK territorial waters.

This week for Ukrainian sailors began with participation in the Joint Warrior 23-II exercise in British waters. They involve the Cherkasy and Chernihiv mine countermeasures ships of the Ukrainian Navy in practical operations at sea.

The vessels and the headquarters of the Mine Action Task Force are trained under the supervision of mentors from the Royal Navy. The participants also include the Royal Air Force and the British Army. In addition to Ukraine, ships and vessels from the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Germany, and Denmark are also participating in the exercise.

It is reported that the main purpose of the training is for the crews and headquarters of the tactical mine action group to achieve a high level of readiness to perform their assigned tasks, as well as compatibility with the mine action units of partner countries. At the same time, they develop skills in planning and conducting mine action according to NATO standards. The goal is to gain experience in the international environment during joint multinational operations.
