It was loud: an explosion occurred at a powder plant in Russia (photos, video)

An explosion occurred in Solikamsk, Russia’s Perm Territory, at the Ural military-industrial plant owned by Rostec. It is the largest enterprise in Russia that produces gunpowder and explosives.

This was reported by Russian media and Telegram channels.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry noted that the incident on the territory of the Solikamsk Ural plant on Energetikov Street was reported at 13:25 (10:25 Kyiv time). 44 people and 11 pieces of equipment were sent to the site.

It was established that a “bang” allegedly occurred in the building of building No. 2. At the time, there was no one in the building. It is noted that the incident allegedly did not affect the company’s operations. The plant is operating as usual.

At the same time, the Ministry of Territorial Security of the Kama region clarifies that the incident occurred in shop No. 3, which operates in an automated mode. According to the latest information, windows and doors were smashed.

Local communities also reported hearing the sound of an explosion. People say that “houses were shaking” in different parts of the city. Eyewitnesses posted a video from the scene. The footage shows an industrial area with smoke rising above it.

Solikamsk-based Ural is one of the largest military-industrial plants in Russia. The plant produces gunpowder, explosives, rubber and plastic products, and paints and varnishes, including gunpowder pressing in shop No. 3. The plant is part of the Spetskhimiya concern of the Rostec corporation, which is on the sanctions list.
