Impressive detonation: Ukrainian FPV drone hits enemy mine clearance unit “Zmiy Gorynych” (video)
Ukrainian soldiers used an FPV drone to destroy an enemy UR-77 Meteorite (“Serpent Gorynych”) demining unit near the village of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.
A video of the successful attack by Ukrainian soldiers was posted on Telegram by journalist Yuriy Butusov.
“Destruction of a Russian UR-77 Meteorite (“Serpent Gorynych”) demining unit by an FPV drone with a powerful detonation of the ammunition. Footage of the mechanized battalion of the 1st Separate Tank Seversky Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, filmed near the village of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. The Meteorit self-propelled lightly armored tracked demining unit is designed to create passages in minefields 6-15 meters wide,” the author of the publication notes in the commentary to the video.
The UR-77 Meteorite is a Soviet self-propelled rocket-propelled mine clearance system based on the 2C1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer. It has been produced since 1978. Demining with the UR-77 is carried out by creating a shock wave from the explosion of the charge, which affects the mine detonator, but complete demining is not guaranteed. In social media, the system is also called “Zmey Gorynych.”
