A rare BREM-4 based on APCS-4 was spotted by one of the Armed Forces brigades (photo)

The press service of the 92nd Brigade of the Ivan Sirko Armed Forces of Ukraine published a set of holiday photos in honor of Motorist’s Day, which was celebrated on October 27. And in these photos, you can see one of the Ukrainian defenders posing in front of the BREM-4, a very rare armored evacuation and repair vehicle based on the APC-4E.

This machine is so rare that references to it in the public domain can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Therefore, this is a sufficient reason to pay attention to this photo, and at the same time to tell you about the BREM-4 itself.

If we closely follow open sources, we can see that the 92nd Brigade also had BREM-4s at their disposal in the spring of 2023, during the battles in eastern Ukraine against the racists.

There is no publicly available data on the approximate number of vehicles of this type that could have been in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces before the full-scale invasion of Russia. There is only evidence that as of January 2021, KMDB was working on a batch of 17 APCS-4 vehicles under a contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, including 15 “line” vehicles, one “commander” vehicle, and one BREM-4M vehicle.

The list of tasks of the BREM-4 includes not only evacuation of damaged equipment from the battlefield, but also lifting or excavation work, use as an auxiliary tool during field repair of equipment, starting the engines of serviced vehicles by electric and pneumatic methods.

The weight of the machine is 21 tons, the crew is 4 people, the highway speed and range are up to 100 km/h and 700 km, respectively, the power plant is a 3TD-3A engine with a capacity of 500 hp, the crane lifting capacity is up to 3 tons, and the winch pulling force is up to 6.8 tons.
