The Yemeni Houthis, supported by Iran, announced the day before that they had launched a large number of missiles and drones toward Israel. Later, Yemen’s military press published a video of the launch.
It is unclear how many of the missiles and kamikaze drones reached their targets. However, the Houthis promise to continue launching. It should be noted that the distance between the two countries is more than 1500 km.

About two weeks ago, the US destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) of the Arleigh Burke class shot down 15 drones and four missiles. Another missile was intercepted by the MIM-104 Patriot system deployed by Saudi Arabia.
The day before, Israel officially announced the use of the Arrow-3 missile defense system. The interceptor, worth about $3 million, successfully shot down an airborne threat over the Red Sea. According to Reuters, it was a ballistic missile launched by Iranian proxies from Yemen.
The United States will strengthen air defense in the region. At the end of last month, the US Department of Defense announced the upcoming deployment of THAAD and MIM-104 Patriot missile defense systems across the Middle East. In addition, there are already several destroyers with Standard anti-aircraft missiles in the Mediterranean and Red Seas. Fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-15E Strike Eagle fighters with air-to-air missiles also arrived in the region.
