China launches experimental communications satellite into orbit (video)
China has launched an experimental communications technology satellite Tongxin Jishu Shiyan Weixing-10 (TJS-10) into orbit, Space reports.
The launch took place on November 2 at 16:54 Kyiv time from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center using a Long March 7A rocket.
According to Chinese state media, this satellite is used to experiment with multi-band and high-speed communication technologies.
TJS-10 is in a geosynchronous transfer orbit (GEO) and will soon enter the geostationary belt at an altitude of about 35,786 km from Earth.
Analysts noted that the lack of data and activity of the TJS satellites in orbit is suspicious and may indicate that the devices are hiding their true purpose.
The TJS-3 satellite, which is considered a test communications satellite, was launched in December 2018. It approached satellites of other countries and checked them. It is also believed that other TJS satellites are intended to test reconnaissance signals and early warning of missile launch.
This was the 51st launch for China in 2023. It is planned that China will launch more than 200 spacecraft during nearly 70 missions in 2023.
