A coup d’état attempt takes place in Hungary

Law enforcement seized documents denying the existence of the Hungarian state

Hungarian security services have announced that they have succeeded in preventing the illegal group Scythian Hungary from seizing power in the country. This was reported by the National Police Department.

According to the investigation, 8 people were preparing to seize power in the country. They threatened to disarm the Hungarian police and military if they resisted. In addition, the group threatened to arrest both former and current members of the government.

“Since it could not be ruled out that the members of the organization had firearms, we appealed to the Anti-Terrorist Center to conduct raids. The group became known after a video appeared in November last year, where its members announced that they were forming a “Scythian Hungary” and began arming free military units,” the statement said.

In total, law enforcement officers arrested 11 people as a result of the operation. Among the items seized, they found documents denying the existence of the Hungarian state.

“The group’s determination is evidenced by the fact that during the search, investigators found ammunition, assault rifles, gas and signal pistols, rubber bullets and air guns in several places,” law enforcement officials said in a statement.

Earlier, the Hungarian Foreign Minister received a letter of threats because of his visit to Ukraine. In the text of the note, according to the story, the author writes that Ukrainians hate the Hungarian authorities because Hungary “is doing everything to make Ukraine lose the war.”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Tamás Menzer said on Facebook that the threat “will not deter Peter Szijjarto from representing Hungary’s interests.”

It is known that the EU will take tough measures against Hungary if it blocks aid to Ukraine. EU leaders have expressed their readiness to take tough measures against Hungary if Prime Minister Viktor Orban continues to block a €50 billion aid package for Ukraine at the upcoming EU summit next week.
