A major German airline will refuse to buy Boeing aircraft

Condor Airlines, one of Germany’s largest airlines specializing in tourist routes, will retire all Boeing airliners in 2025.

Currently, the airline operates Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The development strategy envisages that only European-made Airbus aircraft will remain in the Condor fleet.

Initially, the German airline will stop flying Boeing 767 wide-body aircraft in 2024. In 2025, it will withdraw the remaining Boeing 757 narrow-body airliners from the fleet, finally removing Boeings.

It is noteworthy that Condor has leasing agreements for Boeing 757s until 2028, but decided to stop flying this type of aircraft ahead of schedule due to the age of the aircraft, says aero.de.

According to airfleets.net, the average age of the three Boeing 767s remaining in the German airline’s fleet is 29 years, and the Boeing 757 is 24 years old.

Condor intends to significantly upgrade its fleet in the coming years. For this purpose, it has ordered a new generation of Airbus airliners – narrow-body A320neo, A321neo and wide-body A330neo. These aircraft will replace the old ones.

Some of the Boeing 757s from the Condor fleet may end up in the fleet of the Ukrainian airline Skyline Express. In 2023, the airline received two Boeing 757s, which were previously flown by the Germans. Skyline Express is currently actively using these aircraft on tourist routes from Poland.
