Disturbing rumors about a possible maniac are spreading in one of Kyiv’s districts. According to reports on social media, an unknown person is attacking women with a knife and a hammer in the Desnianskyi district.
Reports are circulating online that the maniac has already attacked seven women. According to the information, the incidents allegedly took place on Ronald Reagan Street, Chervona Kalynya Avenue, and Oleksandra Ekster Street.
Some posts even publish photos of the man suspected of the crime. But other residents insist that this person has nothing to do with the crime, as he suffers from mental disorders and is already undergoing treatment.
People tell each other about the possible danger and recommend that women refrain from going out at night.
One of the local residents said that an unknown man sat down on a bench near her house on Chervona Kalynya Avenue, holding a knife. He sat down next to me and said: “Pardon me, I’m going to sit down.” The woman was very scared and ran to the entrance, after which the man got up and left.
What the police report
The Kyiv police claim to have reported one known case of a woman being killed in the Desnianskyi district.
“The Desnianskyi Police Department opened a criminal investigation under Article 115 – premeditated murder. Investigators are investigating the murder of a woman, a local resident. Operational measures are underway,” the Kyiv police told TSN.ua.
