A non-existent Bugatti Mistral is being resold for $8.5 million
All Bugatti Mistral hypercars were booked long before the start of production, scheduled for 2024. They are already trying to resell the place in the queue.
The Mistral was shown in 2022, and Bugatti promised to produce only 99 copies of the model. The entire batch was booked long before the start of production, scheduled for this year, but the German website Mobile.de posted an ad for the sale of a car that does not yet exist for $8.5 million.
At the stage of accepting orders, the Bugatti Mistral cost five million euros. Now, an unknown seller is asking 7.9 million euros ($8.5 million) for the hypercar, which is 2.9 million euros more than the original price. It is worth noting that the Mistral has all the chances to become a real gem of any collection, as it will be the last Bugatti car with a W16 gasoline engine.
This is an 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine with four turbines, called Thor, which develops 1600 horsepower and 1600 Nm of torque. The declared maximum speed of the hypercar is 420 kilometers per hour.
The Mistral has an original body design and carbon fiber monocoque, which was not only deprived of the roof, but also slightly changed its proportions for a more harmonious look. Advanced composite materials in combination with 3D printing of titanium and aluminum are widely used in the design. The hypercar’s V-shaped windshield refers to the classic 1934 Bugatti Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid, and the engine elements are located behind the passengers’ heads, a nod to the Type 57 Grand Raid and Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.
The model was named after the Mistral, a powerful cold northwesterly wind that blows from the Sevant to the Mediterranean coast of France in the spring months.
