A Rotax engine from Austria was discovered in the Iranian Mohajer-6 UAV

In the downed Iranian Mohajer-6 UAV over the Black Sea, a power unit manufactured by the Austrian company Rotax, which is controlled by Canada’s Bombardier, was discovered during disassembly. Current legislation in the European Union prohibits the supply of Rotax engines to the Russian Federation and Iran. Rotax management has announced an investigation into how the Austrian engines ended up in Iran.

In this regard, Bombardier noted that the company takes the discovery of the Rotax power unit in the Iranian drone very seriously. The company did not give distributors permission to ship engines to an Iranian manufacturer of military drones.

Rotax engine from the Iranian Mohajer-6 UAV In addition to the Austrian engine, during the disassembly of the Mohajer-6, cameras manufactured in Japan, the People’s Republic of China, and the United States were discovered. The range finder installed in the aircraft is also of foreign origin. The drone shot down over the Black Sea was manufactured in Iran in February of this year. Thus, there is a high probability that he was shot down by the fighters of the Armed Forces during his first flight.
