In the United Arab Emirates, Ukrainian engineers are developing the Kronos submarine, which is capable of launching torpedo missiles.
This was reported by Kyivpost.
“While the US House of Representatives continues to block the allocation of aid to Ukraine, which was approved by the Senate in February, Ukrainian engineers are developing a submarine capable of launching torpedo missiles,” the publication notes.
The submarine has recently been tested for military use. The Kronos can move silently underwater and not only carry passengers but also carry explosives.
The submarine is capable of moving at speeds of up to 80 km/h on the water, and up to 50 km/h underwater, almost silently.
Technical characteristics of Kronos:
- width – 7.4 m;
- length – 9 m;
- height – 2 m;
- carrying capacity – up to 3000 kg on water;
- curb weight – 10,000 kg;
- capacity – 11 seats.
“This hybrid vessel, driven by our highly skilled design, research and development team, can comfortably accommodate 10 passengers and is suitable for commercial, rescue and combat operations.
The submarine has an innovative hull design that significantly reduces fuel consumption, increases top speed and provides excellent stability,” said Kronos developers.
As a reminder, developers from the Ukrainian technology company SkyLab UA have created the Shoolika mk6 strategic strike drone. It can deliver precision strikes, particularly in night operations.
The drone has a range of up to 10 km and can carry a load of up to 6 kg. Shoolika mk6 has a high-precision control system and is resistant to electronic warfare.
