American analog of the Iron Dome will be presented in December
More than a year ago, Dynetics was obliged to deliver the first Enduring Shield launcher to the Pentagon, but it never did. Dynetics’ top management cites problems in the supply chain.
According to the terms of the contract, the company was obliged to deliver the first system designed to fire anti-aircraft missiles to the customer by 30.09.2022. Due to problems in the supply chain, the deadline was constantly pushed back. In March, the Pentagon expected to receive the first Enduring Shield by the end of September. Meanwhile, it was never staged. Dynetics management has announced a new deadline for the transfer of Enduring Shield. The defense ministry will allegedly receive the launcher in December of this year.
The Enduring Shield system is positioned by the manufacturer as an alternative to the Iron Dome. Its name literally translates as “Strong Shield”. With the Enduring Shield, the defense department wants to get rid of its dependence on Iron Dome systems. Enduring Shield is being developed as part of the FPCI 2 program launched in 2021.
