Apple and Samsung continue to certify technology in Russia even after leaving the country – the media
The largest electronics manufacturers Apple and Samsung, it seems, still plan to sell equipment in Russia.
Thus, both companies continue to register new devices in the database of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) even after the refusal to supply the aggressor country, writes a number of relevant Russian media.
There are two options: either they hope to return to the Russian market, or thus declare models for supplies to neighboring Kazakhstan and Armenia.
However, experts note that it would be easier and cheaper for manufacturers to carry out certification in those countries where sales are planned. This may mean that, despite the current cessation of sales in Russia, companies are doing so with the prospect of resuming operations in the country.
Also, the media pointed out that in Russia under the guise of selling Samsung smartphones for parallel imports from Kazakhstan. Prices are one and a half to two times higher than last year’s models at the start of sales, but this does not stop people.
We will remind, since February some companies, in particular Apple and Samsung, suspended deliveries of the production to Russia. Other brands also had to cut imports due to significant logistics problems and exchange rate fluctuations.
It is also reported that Chinese giants Lenovo and Xiaomi, despite calls from Beijing to resist coercion from abroad, are quietly closing their business in Russia. Due to sanctions against Russia, China’s total exports to the country fell by 27%.
In this regard, the growing popularity of feature phones in Russia — push-button phones with a minimum of features. Deliveries of ‘dialers’ in the first quarter increased by 43%, while imports of smartphones fell by 14%.
