Apple has figured out how to update new iPhones without taking them out of the box
One of the mandatory stages of setting up a new smartphone is waiting for many minutes to download and install updates. After all, even though the phone receives the latest firmware version at the factory, a lot of time will pass and several new firmware versions will be released before the mobile phone reaches its owner. Apple has figured out a way to make sure that a user leaves an Apple store with a phone with the latest firmware, even if the box remains sealed.
Soon, when buying a new iPhone in Apple stores, users will know that their device has the latest firmware version. According to Apple expert Mark Gurman, Apple will soon start using wireless devices in its stores to turn on, update, and turn off iPhones. In this system, all iPhones are automatically updated to the latest version of iOS before they even come out of the box.
Apple plans to ship these wireless tablets to Apple Stores by the end of the year. It is not yet clear whether Apple plans to share this system with other outlets.
Apple’s new system is causing mixed feelings among some experts, who say that it solves an unimportant problem. After all, when you turn on your smartphone for the first time, it will try to download all the updates. It’s also very easy to check the firmware version and update your phone manually by simply going to Settings > General > Software Update and following the on-screen instructions.
