Apple continues to test iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10 by releasing the second beta versions of these systems for developers. In addition, the company rolled out security patches for iOS 16.5.1, iPadOS 16.5.1, macOS 13.4.1, and watchOS 9.5.2.

For outdated iPhones and iPads, iOS 15.7.7 and iPadOS 15.7.7 are available.

What’s new in iOS 17 beta 2:

  • the Software Update page now contains more information about joining the beta program and backing up before installing the trial version of the operating system;
  • support for connecting two iPhones via AirDrop by bringing them closer together has been added;
  • the Settings app now has a special Fitness section for managing physical activity data;
  • Apple Music’s Crossfade feature now offers a slider to adjust the length of the transition between tracks (from 1 to 12 seconds);
  • in the section “Settings” → “Privacy” → “Geolocation services”, some kind of MicroLocation system parameter appeared. It is unclear what he is responsible for;
  • some Apple Music widgets are now available in different sizes.

What’s new in iOS 16.5.1:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented charging via the Lightning/USB 3 adapter to connect the camera;
