Apple’s product line may be replenished with a $200 iPhone

Apple’s published reports indicate that the North American corporation managed to increase the average selling price of an iPhone. Nevertheless, the apple giant may soon launch the production of ultra-budget mobile devices.

During a recent speech to investors, Tim Cook made a statement that emerging markets such as India are of interest to Apple. According to the top manager, strengthening Apple’s presence in these markets will help solve the problem of uneven sales growth in the US and the EU. It is obvious that the Cupertino-based corporation will not be able to succeed in India and other emerging economies by supplying flagship devices.

Reporter Mark Gurman, who works for Bloomberg, believes that Apple may start selling the old iPhone SE in India. Its cost will be about 200 USD. The journalist recalled that for a long time, the North American corporation sold Apple Watch 3 at a price of 200 USD. Subsequently, it was replaced by the $250 Watch SE.

The importance of the Indian market for Apple cannot be overestimated. Cook mentioned this country about 20 times during his speech. According to the top manager, at the end of last year, India was one of the three countries in which Apple managed to double iPhone sales. It is impossible to achieve such a result in the US or EU markets in principle.
