Apple WWDC22 will start on June 6 in online format – it will tell about new versions of the OS and, possibly, about the new ARM-processor M2

This year, the traditional annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will once again (for the third year in a row) be held entirely in digital format in the form of a pre-recorded report. Give the same as a year ago – from 6 to 10 June.

At the same time, Apple announced that a live event will take place on June 6 on the Apple Park campus, where some developers and students, together with the online community, will be able to watch the main presentation and the annual message of the State of the Union. Details on the submission of applications for participation promise to publish “soon”.

WWDC22, which is entirely dedicated to software and services, will tell you about the new versions of the OS – iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. The main announcements of this year’s WWDC21 were iOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8 and the launch of FaceTime on Android and Windows.

Announcements of new “iron” on the WWDC – a rarity. However, at the time of WWDC 2019 announced the Mac Pro in an unusual design, which was jokingly compared to a grater, along with a professional monitor Pro Cinema XDR, at WWDC 2017 debuted HomePod speaker, which ceased production in 2021, as well as new iMac and iPad Pro. However, at WWDC 2020, Apple announced the abandonment of x86-compatible Intel processors in favor of its own ARM chips M1, and has every chance to complete the transition by the end of 2022, as planned. Based on rumors, the announcement of the next-generation Apple M2 chip can also be expected at WWDC22.
