Argentina is being melted by 40-degree heat

People in Argentina are suffering from a terrible heat wave

People are fleeing to fountains and rivers, and a red alert has been declared in the country.

Argentines are massively looking for shade and trying to refresh themselves in fountains because of the infernal heat that has engulfed the country. This was reported by Reuters.

The temperature in Argentina is reportedly rising to unbearable +40 degrees.

“Everything is melting, everything is melting. Inside the country, things are more complicated. Here, at least, there is a river and some air. Over there, it’s hell,” a Buenos Aires resident told the agency.

Argentina is home to about 45 million people and is an important producer of soybeans, corn, and wheat.

Hundreds of people gather by rivers and douse themselves with water to cope with the heat as a red alert is issued across the country due to high temperatures.

“Even air conditioning is not enough. The heat spreads from the roof to the house, and it’s impossible to stay there. So it’s best to run away and look for a place near the river to spend time with your family,” say locals.

Extreme heat in Australia

At the end of January, an unbearable heat wave hit Australia as well. The temperature in some parts of the country rose to +42°…+47°. This weather increases the risk of new large-scale forest fires, as was the case in 2019-2020. It was the so-called “black summer” for Australia, when forest fires killed 33 people, 3 billion animals and trillions of invertebrates.
