Armored vests for children began to be produced in Lviv

Bright bulletproof vests and helmets for children, which can protect children from debris during evacuation from shelled cities, began to be manufactured in Lviv (Ukraine).

This was reported by the deputy chairman of the board of the Lviv Defense Cluster Yuriy Fedorov. According to Fedorov, the defense cluster received a request for 500 body armor from the National Police. These vests will be used during evacuation. The first thirty pieces are promised to be sent to the Donetsk region in about a week.

The weight of such a bulletproof vest is up to two kilograms. Body armor is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. This material provides shatterproof, soft ballistic protection. The design was designed to be convenient for the child to put on and take off. In addition, all vests have bright colors and reflective tapes. They want to add a GPS beacon there so that you can know where the child is. There are three sizes for children of different ages. The cost of a set of body armor and a helmet is about half a thousand dollars.

The deputy chairman of the board of the Lviv Defense Cluster also added that they are searching for partners to purchase ‘expensive’ materials.
