Artificial intelligence selects targets for IDF air strikes
The Israeli army has started using AI technologies in military operations. In particular, they are used to plan air attacks.
In an interview with Bloomberg, an IDF spokesperson said that artificial intelligence is able to quickly process large amounts of data. His conclusions are used as a basis for selecting targets for air strikes.
Operational planning of attacks is carried out by the Israeli army using another AI model. It’s called Fire Factory. AI not only provides military personnel with recommendations on targets, but also calculates ammunition and draws up strike schedules.
Bloomberg journalists note that both AI systems are controlled by the Israeli military. The conclusions made by AI are thoroughly checked. At the same time, the use of AI technologies reduces the time of work of schedulers to several minutes.
