At the Dorohusk railroad checkpoint on the border, unidentified persons dumped Ukrainian agricultural products from railroad cars, the Ministry of Infrastructure reports. Grain carriers with rapeseed were transiting through Poland to Germany.
According to the agency, the incident occurred today at about 9 a.m. at the Dorohusk railroad checkpoint. Unidentified persons damaged rapeseed in three grain carriers that were in transit to Hamburg, Germany.
“Unpunished crimes always come back. Even if it is military aggression, even if it is damaged grain. The criminals must be found and punished immediately so that others will not be tempted to repeat them,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure.
“Ukrzaliznytsia is already preparing a report on the incident to the Polish law enforcement agencies.
As a reminder, on the morning of February 20, Polish farmers went on a general strike, blocking roads, key communication hubs and checkpoints on the border with Ukraine in almost 200 locations across the country. Near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint, protesters blocked the railroad and scattered grain from grain trucks. Polish protesters also stopped a passenger bus at the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne border crossing point.
The Ukrainian authorities have already informed the European Commission about the situation with the blocking of the Ukrainian border, including the blocking of passenger traffic and the spillage of grain from a freight train. Polish President Andrzej Duda hopes that the protest of Polish farmers on the border with Ukraine can be stopped through negotiations, as was the case during the rallies of the carriers. According to him, negotiations are underway between the Polish government and farmers and trade unions to unblock the border.
