Bal coastal systems may be used to strike at Ukraine

According to the Center for National Resistance, the occupiers transferred the Bal coastal complexes to the territory of the Bryansk region. They plan to use them to strike Ukrainian cities.

The main purpose of the division is to destroy ships. For this purpose, Bal uses X-35/35U missiles. The range of the X-35 is 130 km. The X-35U missile is capable of destroying surface targets at a distance of up to 260 km. In 2021, an upgraded X-35U with a range of over 500 km was introduced. Thanks to the new guidance system, it is now capable of hitting targets on the ground. As a result, the Bal system is now on par with the Bastion, which can strike ground targets with Onyx missiles.

Initially, the Bal system was designed to control territorial waters and straits, defend naval bases, protect infrastructure facilities on the coast, etc. One Bala launcher can hold 8 missiles.
