Belarusian authorities have banned citizens from buying, selling, manufacturing, using, and even storing drones

Belarus has completely banned unmanned aerial vehicles for private citizens. Now only companies and entrepreneurs can use drones in the country.

alexander Lukashenko signed the decree “on state registration and operation of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles”. Now individuals cannot buy, sell, import into the country, or manufacture drones on their own. Moreover, even the storage of UAVs has been banned.

The press service of the self-proclaimed president of Belarus says that the new document is intended to ensure public safety, regulate the procedure for state registration of civilian UAVs and aircraft models, and streamline their use.

New rules on the manufacture, use and import of drones into the country have already come into force. Storage and sale will be banned in six months. Within six months, all citizens of the country must get rid of UAVs. Drones can be sold to companies or transferred for storage to some organizations, but it is not yet clear which ones.

Companies and private entrepreneurs will be able to use UAVs in their operations in the future. However, they will have to obtain permission from the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
