Biometry announces 1KB memory card for $1000 that stores data in DNA for up to 150 years

A young Paris-based company called Biometry has introduced a memory card that looks like a bank card. The new product is designed to store information in DNA.

The new memory card allows the owner to store data in synthetic DNA. The volume is 1 KB, and the term is up to 150 years. You can encode and decode 1024 characters in a special laboratory. The procedure lasts approximately 8 hours.

The card uses a technology that converts digital data into four nucleotides: adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine. The French startup claims that the new development is a significant breakthrough in DNA storage technology.

In the future, the company wants to increase the data storage period to 1000 and 10,000 years. The startup is also considering increasing the capacity, which will allow it to store more data, including photos and documents.

The cost of the memory card was $1000. Biometry plans to start deliveries in January next year.
