Boris Johnson admitted that he is still in awe of Russian culture and said that “only a fool would not admire” it.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he remains a Russophile and admires Russian culture, language and civilization.
The former Prime Minister said this during a telethon.
“I am still a Russophile. I still admire the language, the culture, the Russian civilization. Only a fool wouldn’t,” Johnson says.
The former British Prime Minister emphasized that he was “very sad about what is happening now.” In his opinion, it would be “ridiculous to pretend that the Russian people do not support this war and that it is a tragedy.”
At the same time, when asked what the future of Russia would be, Johnson replied that what matters now is what the future of Ukraine will be.
“This is a country that has been attacked. And it is Ukrainians who need our support. Ukraine must be free and Ukraine must be independent. Ukraine must choose its own destiny,” Johnson said.
The former prime minister also believes that Russia has nothing to do with the war in Israel.
“Russia is not in it, Iran is,” the politician says.
However, according to him, we should not allow the world to shift its focus away from Ukraine.
“We must support Israel, but we must also support Ukraine,” Johnson emphasized.
