Budanov told how the Armed Forces destroyed the ‘Kadyrivs’ thanks to their TikTok video

References to the first weeks of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces used cell phone signals and TikTok videos to target a unit of the so-called “Kadyrivtsy”, reports The New York Times in a major story about the full-scale war in Ukraine, citing the words of the head of intelligence, Kyryll Budanov.

It took 40 minutes from the time one video was uploaded to locate the unit near Gostomel Airport, northwest of Kyiv. Then the Ukrainian military hit them with three Point-U ballistic missiles and destroyed the “Kadyrivs”.

“They were using regular phones to make decisions about their next steps. We understood where the enemy is and what numbers he uses,” Budanov said. The eavesdroppers transmitted data to the Armed Forces for ambushes and counterattacks.

“We did not lose Ukraine. We did not allow the enemy to advance further. In the first days, when they made stupid mistakes, we used it in our interests,” Budanov concluded.
