In the United States, pilots were forced to return and land the plane because of a horse that broke free and ran out of the cargo hold.
This was reported by the Mirror.
An Air Atlanta Icelandic plane was forced to return to New York after a horse broke free in the cargo hold. The animal caused real chaos in the air. The pilots informed the controller that the horse could not be returned to the compartment and started galloping around the plane.
“We are a cargo plane with a live animal on board, a horse. The horse broke out of its stall. We have no problems flying, but we need to get back to New York. We can’t secure the horse,” the embarrassed pilot told the controller.
The pilots also asked for a veterinarian to be present after landing.
Flightradar24 reported that the plane took off again at 18:35 and landed successfully in Liege about six hours later at 6:49 local time on November 10.
