Challenger 2 tanks will be modernized based on the results of studying the trophies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Official Kyiv has announced the start of the process of transferring Russian equipment captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the UK. After studying it, Challenger 2 tanks will undergo additional modernization.
According to the materials published by the Defense Command Paper, the UK government has transferred a large number of weapons and various ammunition to Ukraine. The experience of their use on the battlefield is being carefully studied by British specialists to improve the equipment. In particular, they determined how camouflage affects the survival of MLRS missile systems on the battlefield.
Special attention will be paid to the protection of Challenger 2. Dstl laboratory specialists will study the trophy Russian armored vehicles. The data will be used to create additional protection against potential Russian threats.
The British side does not say what design changes will be made to Challenger 2. It is not hard to guess that the UK military will use the experience gained by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the fighting against the Russian invaders.
