China launches remote sensing satellite for Egypt (video)
China launched a remote sensing satellite for Egypt on December 3 as part of deepening space cooperation between the two countries, Space reports.
The Long March 2C rocket was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 06:10 Kyiv time. The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation confirmed the success of the launch within an hour of the launch.
The main payload on Long March 2C was the MISRSAT-2 remote sensing satellite for Egypt. It will transmit high-resolution images, including 2 meters per pixel in panchromatic mode and 8 meters per pixel for multispectral images.
According to the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the satellite will help Egypt in its work on land and resource utilization, water conservation, agriculture and other sectors.
Also on board Long March 2C were Starpool 02-A and Starpool 02-B remote sensing satellites developed by the Chinese company Elliptical Space and Time (EllipSpace).
