On Sunday, October 1, a tragedy occurred in the Mexican city of Ciudad Madero. During the service, the roof of the church collapsed, killing seven people and trapping about 20 others in the rubble.
It is noted that a baptismal ceremony was held in the church. The mass was attended by about 100 people.
After the roof of the Santa Cruz church collapsed, 49 people were taken to the hospital. According to police, there are children among them.
In addition, about 20 people are still trapped under the rubble of the building. Emergency services and rescuers arrived at the scene and are trying to get people out of the rubble. The causes of the collapse are unknown and are being investigated.
Rescue operations are underway, and people are bringing megaphones, lamps and cranes to the civil defense service.
