In the Kursk region, the Russian Federation again complained about a drone attack: a drone with cluster munitions allegedly attacked an oil mill in the town of Sudzha. The incident provoked another hysteria among Russians, who recalled the Kremlin’s threats about “red lines” on social media.
According to local governor Roman Starovoit, “three cluster munitions were allegedly dropped on the plant.” He also published photos of the wreckage.
Two munitions allegedly exploded and damaged “production barrels and an underground storage facility.” The third one allegedly did not explode, and sappers were called in to defuse it.
No one was injured, and the scene was cordoned off, according to the Russian media.
Meanwhile, online, Russians complain that the West had previously announced the use of cluster weapons only on the frontline in Ukraine, and demand that the Kremlin keep its promises, particularly regarding the “red lines.”
Others write that the attack was actually carried out with improvised munitions.
SBU attacks military camp near Khalino airfield
On the night of October 18, the Security Service attacked a Russian field camp near the village of Postolye Dvory. Up to 3,000 Russian troops and about 80 pieces of military equipment were stationed there, not far from the Khalino military airfield.
The SBU emphasizes that the exact number of enemy casualties is being clarified. However, the damage was extensive, as at least 18 drone strikes on the camp were recorded.
All night long, Russians from the surrounding villages discussed the sounds of the explosions on social media. Although it is very strange how they could have heard them, as the Russian authorities reported that air defense “shot down all the drones” and “there are no more,” the sources said.
